In the Turkish Süper Lig, assistant coach at Antalyaspor under Leonardo, taking charge of the first team as caretaker — a spell in which the team raised its ratio to 1.75 pts/match, better than under the previous head coaches. Later, Head of Coaching & Assistant Coach at Fenerbahçe, alongside Phillip Cocu and Erwin Koeman.
In Spain, assistant coach at UD Almería in LaLiga 2 alongside Guti, qualifying for the promotion Play Off in 2019-20.
As head coach, has managed in the Cypriot First Division (Ethnikos Achnas, AEK Larnaca, Akritas Chlorakas) and the Polish Ekstraklasa (Lechia Gdańsk). At AEK Larnaca achieved the first and only qualification of the club to the UEFA Champions League.

I arrived with the team bottom of the table (2 points in 6 matchdays). We finished the season in 5th place with 58 points — the club's best finish in years. Took charge of the first team as caretaker in September and December 2017, winning my debut 3-0. The squad revalued to 30-35M€ and attracted signings like Samir Nasri, Jérémy Ménez and Eto'o.
Assistant in a turbulent season with three head coaches (Phillip Cocu, Erwin Koeman, Ersun Yanal). The team was 17th on matchday 15, in the relegation zone. We finished 6th, just outside European places. Experience managing a 100M€ squad and Europa League participation through to the round of 32.
Assistant coach with Guti. The team stayed in the Play Off zone all season with +7 points over 7th place. One of the most valuable squads in Segunda (+30M€) with young players like Darwin Núñez. Top scorers of the category for much of the season. The team finished 3rd with clear promotion options.
I arrived with the team last (0.58 pts/match). Raised it to 1.27 pts/match — more than double. Reached the cup quarter-finals, kept 5 clean sheets and earned key victories (1-0 vs Olympiakos Nicosia, 0-2 vs Omonia, 1-1 vs APOEL).
I took over with the team 5th. Lifted it to runner-up, achieving the club's first ever qualification to UEFA Champions League qualifying rounds. 0-1 win at league leaders Apollon at the Tsireio on the final matchday. 4 clean sheets in 10 matches. Followed by Europa League group stage in 22-23.
Newly promoted, with a squad among the 5 youngest in Europe (CIES) and the lowest market value in the league (~2M€). I achieved the club's first historic victory in the top flight against Omonia (1-0). Implemented professional working methodology and gave minutes to youngsters who later attracted attention from bigger clubs.
I arrived at 17th place with the club in institutional crisis, unpaid salaries and already nearly relegated. Despite this I achieved a 1-0 win against Legia Warsaw in the 98th minute, in front of 15,000 spectators — celebrated as one of the moments of the year. Kept the group united until the end in very adverse circumstances.
Second spell at the club. We achieved 8th place — the club's best league finish in nearly 20 years. The team stayed comfortably out of the relegation zone. Recognised as Coach of the Month ahead of the coaches of Omonia, AEK and Aris. The squad revalued by +24%.
